Hanne Marie le Fevre is a classically trained mezzo-soprano who performs both as a soloist and ensemble singer, mainly in the field of early and contemporary music. She is educated from The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and Copenhagen, and has taken private studies in Paris and Berlin.
As an ensemble singer, in addition to Ars Nova Copenhagen, Hanne holds positions in The Danish Radio (DR) Concert Choir and Vor Frue Kantori, which is broadcast daily on live TV and radio. She also performs as an assistant in Holmen's Church Cantori, Mogens Dahl's Chamber Choir and DR Vocal Ensemble.
Hanne is a solid soloist and has a broad core repertoire within oratorio and church music as well as for French chansons, German lieder and, as an example, Schönbergs Pierrot Lunaire which she performed at the age of 23. She has a strong beating heart for new composed music, improvisation and non-vocal bodywork.
In 2024 she was awarded the Pelle-prize named after the composer Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen. The prize was awarded by the experimental music festival KLANG and the publisher Edition Wilhelm Hansen.
In addition to her musical career, Hanne works as a body- and psychotherapist with training in Omnitherapy and existential psychology. She has worked as a mentor for aftercare groups for abused women. On a daily basis Hanne lives with her son on a boat in Copenhagen, rides motorcycles and fixes things.
