Maria Frej

Maria Frej is the manager of Albertslund MusikTheater and is active in Danish music and cultural life, e.g. through a number of positions of trust and board positions, e.g. on the board of Østerbro Teater, Edition-S/Dacapo and the new music festival Klang.

Until spring 2023, Maria Frej was managing director and concert hall manager of Malmö Live and Malmö Symphony Orchestra, and before that she was program manager at Tivoli and responsible for, among other things, Tivoli Copenhagen Phil and Tivoli Big Band. Maria Frej has also been leader of the basic ensemble Storstrøm's Chamber Ensemble and music producer at The Black Diamond/The Royal Theatre.

Alongside her jobs, Maria has continuously had a number of freelance and consulting assignments - e.g. as a festival producer, writer, mentor, advisor, etc. – and not least been active in cultural politics, e.g. for a longer period as a member of the Copenhagen City Council and as a member of the project support committee for music in the Danish Arts Council.
