Rasmus Kure Thomsen
Rasmus Kure Thomsen was educated at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music with Johannes Mannov with a master's degree in December 2011. In 2007, he competed for a position as 2nd bass in the DR Concert Choir, and thereby got a contract for the 2017-2018 season in the DR Vocal Ensemble. Ensemble assignments in addition to Ars Nova Copenhagen include permanent association with Musica Ficta as well as projects with Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir, Teater Hedeland's Opera Choir and Det Kgl. Opera choir.
Rasmus' opera debut took place in the summer of 2010 in Mozart's Don Giovanni at Valdemar Castle as the Commander and Masetto. Most recently, he sang Don Fabrizio in Bo Holten's opera Gesualdo - Shadows at Takkelloftet. Rasmus is frequently used as a cantata and oratorio soloist and in this connection has worked with e.g. Concerto Copenhagen, Storstrøm's Chamber Ensemble and conductors such as Helmuth Rilling, Ton Koopman and Alfredo Bernardini. He is a permanent bass soloist in Trinitati's Baroque ensemble and in December 2012 received the talent award from Editor Hans Voigt's Mindelegat.
Rasmus' repertoire includes, among other things Bach's oratorios, passions and cantatas, Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Elias, Fauré's Requiem, Duruflé's Requiem, Mozart's Requiem, Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Haydn's Creation, Nielsen's Fynsk Spring, Gade's Crusaders.
The song repertoire includes, among other things Schubert's Schwanengesang and Winterreise, Schumann's Dichterliebe and Liederkreis op. 39, Wolf's Michelangelo lieder, Brahms' Vier ernste Gesänge.
